\"\"<\/a>I should warn you (or possibly reassure you, depnding on how you feel about this topic) that this post has very little to with Astrology. January is the month of Capricorn, however, and the word play in the title amused me \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Capricorn aside, the topics referred to are those of conversation. Other than the usual January fodder of Christmas post-mortems, New Year’s resolutions (mostly already broken by now, I expect) and Credit Card bills, we British are especially blessed this week by a surfeit of weather to talk about. Hours of entertainment can be had with our favourite topic of conversation, comparing or competing to see who is the most badly hit by the gales, has the darkest daytime skies, or is currently experiencing the intermittent blue skies and sunny lulls. Yes, we have a lot of topics of conversation this week.<\/p>\n

I will add my contribution to the discussion in the form of one of my favourite Spike Milligan poems:<\/p>\n

Through every nook and every cranny
\nThe wind blew in on poor old Granny
\nAround her knees, into each ear
\n(And up nose as well, I fear)<\/p>\n

All through the night the wind grew worse
\nIt nearly made the vicar curse
\nThe top had fallen off the steeple
\nJust missing him (and other people)<\/p>\n

It blew on man, it blew on beast
\nIt blew on nun, it blew on priest
