A Message from the Dark Side
Welcome to the Samhain/Hallowe’en edition of the Tarot Blog Hop. You can find links to the posts preceding and following this one and also the master list at the bottom of the page, as usual. The theme of this Blog Hop is “Exploring Your Shadow Side”. Well, if you’ve tuned in to find out about all my dark secrets, I’m afraid you’re going to be disappointed. You see, as a well-adjustedย as aย schizophrenicย as a Gemini, I don’t have a shadow side as such; all of my facets are on display…in carefully selected doses…to carefully selected people of course, but essentially, what you see is what you get , dark bits and all ๐
That said, I thought it might be amusing to see what the cards said and whether they agreed at all with my acknowledged, and very much in the full glare of daylight, shadow side. First, though, the dilemma of which deck to choose. Hmmm…I do have quite a few to choose from and it is a very great shame that my Darkana deck has yet to arrive, as I think that would have been absolutely perfect. Then again, I have the Joseph Vargo Gothic or the Bohemian Gothic or is that too obvious? Yes, I think so. Tempting as it is to lurch Frankenstein-like for the nearest Hammer inspired black deck, I think that the deck needed to plumb my darkest depths is the Shakespearian Tarot by Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki. After all, who knows human nature better than Shakespeare, or for that matter, more about the masks they wear and the deceits they invent to hide behind.
So, which card did I draw?…
…The Wheel of Fortune. The text on the card reads: “The wheel hath come full circle” KING LEAR
It figures…I told you I was well-rounded ;Dย Mind you, the Moon is round* and it most definitely has a shadow side…..Mwahahahahaha….!
*well, roughly spherical if you must be pedantic, though it is round in two dimensional representations.
Staying with the broadly spherical theme, my Samhain gift to you is thisย link, though be sure your dark side doesn’t slip in any poisoned apples when you aren’t looking. Enjoy! ๐

I see the Wheel of Fortune agreeing with you – you’re ever-changing… Love the Darth Vader pumpkin! ๐
Hmm, as a fellow Gemini I have to admit to plenty of dark side – after all, you can’t necessarily show both sides at once… And enticing us with toffee apples is distinctly evil ๐
Of course you can show both sides at once…if you’re spinning fast enough ;D
LOL. Wheel of Fortune? GO ON! You stacked the deck, right? ๐
How very dare you! I’ve never stacked a deck in my life…read the odd marked card perhaps, though not in this case ๐
Snicker. ๐
Love the pumpkin! It seems like I get stuck either on the light side or the dark side…your post will help me to see it as a circle rather than a two-dimensional object. ๐
Ah yes, all things come full circle in time. Pi is the key to the Universe…or is that Pie? ๐
YUMmy toffee apples! YEAH! Thanks! I’ll trick or treat by here again!
Ya know, being a Sag and always getting a clear view of you Geminis across the zodiac head-on, which means I probably have less clarity about you . . . I imagine that The Void itself might be Gemini . . . ’cause when I stare into The Void long enough, it raises an eyebrow all of a sudden and looks back and tells me it’s rude to stare. ๐
Thanks for your blog!
I’ve always got on well with Sags – they are the dark side LOL
And, as well, when you Geminis spin fast enough it reminds me that binary code might not be zeroes and ones . . but 2 states of a spinning circle . . . spinning fast enough fou face forward a circle, turning 1/4 again a 1, O 1 O 1 O 1 is simply a Gemini Whirling Dervishing? Or, you guys are more the Tasmanian Devil type. Much more humor there.
Or maybe neither. As a child, did you ever put out your arms, close your eyes and spin until you were so dizzy you couldn’t walk straight and collapsed in a giggling heap? Well, life can be that much fun ๐
I luff me a toffee apple. And Darth Vader. Even as we speak I am Doing The Tune out loud.
Also I am really worried about Jordan and his relationship with the Abyss ๐
Ali x
Oh no, the apples in toffee apples are always smooshy, not crunchy ๐
Crunchy is better, They’re only smooshy because they’re ancient ๐
