Mother’s Day Compilations

Fed up with the assumption of advertisers that motherhood automatically means that you like soppy, sentimental drivel when it comes to music, I have come up with my own music compilation for Mothers’ Day. To make it a little more fun, it is in quiz form 😀

Feel free to post your answers – comments are moderated anyway and I will hold back anything that might be a spoiler, though I will approve general comments. Anyone can play and I will be impressed (possibly enough to give a prize) to anyone who gets them all right. Answers will be posted on Monday evening. Enjoy!

The following are all lyrics from my compilation, randomly selected from my Nano. Each excerpt is followed by the title of the track. You need to get the title, artist (or cover artist) and if you are a big girlie swot, the original release year will get you bonus kudos.  Here goes :

Bonus question for anyone who has made it this far:

I have a lot of plays and audiobooks as well as music. Can you identify the play and author of this quote:

“It is a terrible thing for a man to find out suddenly that all his life he has been speaking nothing but the truth. Can you forgive me?”
