Farewell 2014
So 2014 is drawing to a close and I know that many people will be glad to see the back of it, but then every year will be a challenge for someone and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are always out and about, which is probably why they ride rather than walking. That’s Life…and Death.
Personally, it hasn’t been that bad a year for me. We had a lot of stress trying to get DD a place at the same Secondary school as DS and ultimately failed, but she aced her SATs and has settled into the other school quite happily, coming top of her class in every subject in the assessment tests. DS also had a good year, winning a photography competition and making a good start on his GCSE courses.
From a trading perspective, the weather was clement again this year, so I had a pretty good season on the Medieval/Historic Festival circuit and I seem to have been fairly busy all year (lots to get back to next week). We even managed to factor in a holiday again this year. Dexter has continued to settle in well, though he is still very shouty when strangers come to the house and I doubt he’ll ever be comfortable around people he doesn’t know. Only DH seems to have had a rough year (at work).
In terms of this blog, I have been rather sporadic in my posts, but I have contributed regularly to the Tarot Blog Hop and in December succeeded in posting every day for my Tarot Advent Calendar *pats self on the back*. People even read and kindly commented on most of my posts.
All of which brings me to my roll of honour. In addition to off-blog friends and family who have contributed to the 😀 😀 😀 this year, I would especially like to thank those who have taken the time to read and comment on this blog. I really appreciate it and without those comments I would feel as though I were just in my cell shouting at the padded walls 🙂
So, since WordPress kindly supplied me with a nice report with stats on my blogging year, thus saving me the hassle of working it out myself, I extended my thanks (and links) to my top commenters:
- My Evil(ler) Twin and fellow knitter, who always takes time to comment
- My Good Twin, whose writing is hugely entertaining and who also blogs here
- Joanne whose comments always lead to conversation, and
- Chloe, who blogs so prolifically I really don’t know how she finds the time.
Thanks, gals. My one serious resolution for next year is to be sure to return the compliment as often as I can 🙂

huzzah! what great companions I have amongst your top commenters! Can’t think of a nicer blogging crowd to be amongst 😀
Happy New Year when it comes!
Yes, we all talk too much 😀
There’s no echo when you shout at padded walls …ask me how I know ….
Same way I know? ;D
